11. Awareness:

  1. Raising awareness is key to driving change. BAWSO conducts campaigns and workshops to educate communities on environmental issues, health, human rights, and sustainable practices.
  • In 2019, BAWSO successfully completed an awareness-raising project in Bamyan center for 300 women and girls. The project included the following activities:
  • Economic Empowerment: Conducted workshops on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and vocational training to help women and girls develop skills necessary for starting and managing small businesses, enhancing their economic independence and livelihoods.
  • Women’s Rights: Organized educational sessions to inform participants about their legal rights, access to justice, and advocacy strategies. These sessions aimed to empower women and girls to understand and exercise their rights within their communities and beyond.
  • Hygiene: Provided training on personal hygiene and sanitation practices to promote health and prevent diseases. The sessions covered topics such as proper handwashing, menstrual hygiene management, and safe water practices to improve overall health outcomes in the community.
  • Gender-Based Violence (GBV): Held awareness sessions on recognizing and preventing gender-based violence, focusing on creating a safe environment for women and girls. The activities included discussions on available support services, legal protections, and ways to seek help.
  • Social Cohesion: Facilitated community dialogues and activities aimed at fostering social cohesion and understanding among different groups. The focus was on building trust, promoting peace, and encouraging cooperation among community members to strengthen communal bonds.
  • Through these targeted activities, BAWSO aims to empower women and girls with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions, advocate for their rights, and contribute positively to their communities.
